The good thing about making adjustments is that you will be reminded to make a copy of the image in .spp format. This way no damage to the original image can take place. The basic adjustment tools are available on the right hand side panel- Levels, Colors, Brightness, Curves, etc. Image layers, like the kind in Photoshop, are at the bottom of this panel.

1. Multitasking (the possibility to open and use several app simultaneously) has been developed perfectly only in Android phones. iOS has some remotely resembling features of multitasking, but still it is not what I would like to have.

2. Notifications in iOS are very annoying. They are more like ads and pop-ups, while Android gadgets provide more informative-looking notifications that fade after some time without disturbing your work.

3. Android OS sometimes is blamed for having too many holes and bugs. But it is rarely said that Google releases updates very often with all bugs fixings. iOS also has lots of problems (just remember the latest news about bug in iOS 6), but Apple releases new versions of OS maximum once a year. And the updates aren’t very frequent.

4. Android Home screen with its number of icons and widgets allows better organization of the desktop. iPhone 5 has got such improvements only this year while Google presented them long ago.

5. The number of free apps for Android is bigger.

Of course, there are differences in hardware specs of Android phones and iPhones. However, for an average user they are not as critical as they may be advertised. Smartphones based on Android cover the whole spectrum of functionalities starting with email management and finishing with business banking transactions.

Wrong answers should hopefully send you to search for information because the game doesn’t tell you what the right response is. Questions could be anything- from popular references to culture and history. For every win, you get voters who help you win states. MOBILE PHONES AND CLOUD COMPUTING EMRAN

A Panorama is a beautiful wide-angle view of any image, object, landscape or material. A panoramic view gives the viewer a comprehensive detail about the object or location. Generally landscapes such as hills, lakes, city skylines are captured under a panoramic view to fit in the maximum possible information into the photograph. Though there are cameras that now ship with built-in Panorama mode, the best way to recreate a panoramic style effect is to take individual pictures and stitch them using software. And today, we are going to do just that. So, let’s check out on how to create a Panorama in Photoshop using Photomerge utility:

Gearing Up:

So before we actually begin the process, we need to make sure that we have the following three things:

1-  A digital camera

2-  A steady platform or a tripod

3-  Adobe Photoshop with Photomerge Utility

Capture:

A.            Mount your camera over the tripod stand or any other firm base so that it does not move or incline away from its primary position. The camera must be in such a position that it is easy to swivel, horizontally. One of the reasons why we stress for the need of a firm base is because, Photoshop tends to get confused when there are two images with inappropriate continuity and results in the production of a white line at the stitching point. So, to avoid this, we make sure that there are no vertical or horizontal movements or shakes in the camera.

B.            Begin by focusing the camera from the extreme left hand side of the object/medium that you intend to capture.

C.            Set the timer, click (without hindering the camera) and check if the pictures have come out as intended. If satisfied, proceed to the next step, which is called setting up a reference point. Else, adjust the settings, and capture again.

D.            Select a point in the object as a reference point and bring it under the viewfinder such that the point is on the extreme left side of the viewfinder. Now, capture the other half of the image (right hand side) as we shot the first image. The reason why we select a reference point is to ensure overlapping. Photoshop, when creating panoramas, stitches two images together. So, when it stitches the picture, overlapping pictures will have no impact and will ensure smooth continuity in pictures, whereas irrelevant images will display white lines as mentioned above.

E.            So, repeat the same process using the reference point method until you completely capture your required images.

The Photoshop Trick:

A.            It’s now time to create some magic! Select the photos that you feel are ok. Add them to Photoshop by selecting Photomerge option under the Automate tag in Files. While selecting or adding, make sure that you add the pictures that have pictures starting from the left hand side of the object. Also make sure that the images are in the right order as the file names and numbers can be tricky.

B.            Select the images manually and then click on the button – OK.

C.            Once you click OK, Photoshop gets into action instantly and begins to merge your pictures. This process takes some time depending upon the size of the images and their relevancy.

D.            In case you feel some of the details in the pictures are lost, simply smoothen or flatten your image and then apply arbitrary rotation techniques so that the picture looks even from every angle and then crop the picture accordingly.

E.            Post this, you may further apply several personalized effects (if you want to) such as adjusting the exposure level, saturation and color/tone levels. Also, before you finish your image make sure that you pan in and out multiple areas of the picture and check for possible mistakes and loss of details. This paves the way for the correction of even the slightest of possible errors.

F.            Now, we are in the last stage of the process. Once you have done giving your personal effects and settings to the picture, just apply a sharp filter by selecting Smart sharpen under filter tab and manually set the percentage to over 50% and radius to around 1. Select the button – OK.

G.            Save your picture.

H.            Behold! Your Panorama is ready.

You can use the same technique and create as many pictures you want with different ideas, objects. So, go ahead, experiment on different stuff, click and share it with your friends! Hope this was useful.

It may be too early to predict if Apple iPad’s is losing its sheen in China, but there is enough indication in that direction to warrant such a prediction. Apple further plans to retain the system of reservation for quiet some more time until things stabilize. Reservations don’t take much time and are open only for limited hours; between 9 am and 12 midday. With deliveries scheduled for following days, it is a simple go and collect job.

Another reason why Apple tried to do everything systematically and quietly this time was the trade mark dispute in which it got embroiled with the Chinese manufacturer, Proview, since settled amicably. The iPad had earlier in May received certification from China’s Telecommunication Equipment Center. It is noteworthy that this Only Wi-Fi iPad from Apple is for most part manufactured in China. It is really surprising that a much awaited product like this should have taken so long to launch with so little fanfare and hype, like it usually used to be with Apple products in the past.

Standard Lithium battery consists of a cathode (negative electrode) made from lithium oxide, of an anode (positive electrode) which is usually made from graphite and of an electrolyte which allows lithium ions to move in a cell. From the point of view of physics, discharging is a process of lithium ions’ moving from anode to cathode. Charging is a reverse process when lithium ions back to anode under the influence of electric current.

Charging-discharging cycles

The first thing you should know about Lithium batteries is that their lifetime depends on the number of charging-discharging cycles (or simply how long you have been using the battery). After 250 cycles the ability to keep charge reduces by 25%. But they degrade even if not used. That’s why it is useless to try to “spare” your device and to limit the number of chargings. So now you know why your device discharges faster and faster as time goes by.

Incorrect charging

Lithium batteries don’t have “memory effect” so you don’t need to train your battery by discharging it completely. What is more, it’s even harmful. Try not to wait until your battery is almost empty or, what is worse, until your device switches off. It may influence the lifetime of your battery. Don’t be afraid of frequent charging – it doesn’t do harm to the battery. Optimal level of charging that provides maximum performance of a device is 45%.

Sensitivity to temperature changes

Lithium batteries are very sensitive to overheating and to super cooling. These factors negatively influence their time of service. Ideal temperature for using such batteries is 15^oC. That’s why if you want to be on the safe side you’ better not to leave your gadget connected to a charger for a long time without some special necessity. To forget your device on a dashboard of your car when it’s hot is even worse. In winter it’s not recommended to put your gadget into an external pocket or into a bag and to use it frequently in cold air.

USB charging

There’s a theory that USB charging may do harm to your battery, but it’s not true. You may charge your smartphone from USB but remember that sometimes USB controller simply can’t provide 500 mA current or there may be some other peripheral devices connected to USB that consume power. In such cases there won’t be enough current for charging especially if your device is completely discharged.

If you follow these simple pieces of advice the battery of your gadget will serve its time. Apart from that, don’t forget to take a look at battery capacity when buying a new device – this will give you some hints at what to expect from the battery.

It is an open-source program, designed to keep you up-to-date on latest (and most popular) free software. It displays a catalogue from where you can download them in batch. It also automatically check latest software updates and alert you if a latest version of the program is available.

Simply launch the application and you will see a simple looting UI, which shows a list of available programs on the left column. Is it simple, yes it is and this is the reason why I love it. You don’t have to do anything just wait for the process to finish.
